Christopher Miller Chris Miller

Director, Interactive
Draftfcb

Chris has created, built and led businesses in the digital marketing space for close to twenty years, most recently in his role as SVP, Group Management Director, Interactive at Draftfcb. In his work he combines a relentless pursuit of perfection with a passion for experimenting, traits that have served him and his client's well across the shifting digital landscape.

At Draftfcb, Chris leads interactive for the agency and is responsible for evolving the agency's interactive discipline, client offering and setting the agencies vision and direction in the interactive space.

Recently he was the cofounder of Tractiv, which Element79 acquired in 2005 to build out digital competencies across the agency. At Element79, as Chief Digital Officer, he led the digital strategy and operations for the agency while also taking an active role in new business and clients, including: Celebrity Cruiselines, Frito-Lay, Gatorade, Harris Bank, and Quaker Foods.

Prior to forming Tractiv, Chris co-founded and led chemistri (now Arc Worldwide), one of the top interactive agencies in North America. Built from the ground up, chemistri quickly became a respected and profitable business. chemistri's dramatic growth came through collaboration and integrated programs with marketing partners and it's own unique service model. Under his leadership, chemistri grew to over 75 people and delivered exceptional financial and creative results. Recognized by the industry as thought leaders, chemistri was named agency of the year in 2001 by Revolution Magazine, and won numerous awards including a Cannes Cyber-Lion and Gold Effie. chemistri clients included: Allstate, adidas, Disney, GM, Kellogg's, McDonald's, P&G and US Army.

Before chemistri, Chris worked for many years in the Leo Burnett network growing from manager to EVP/director within the network. In addition to an active role in new business, including account and assignment wins from Heinz, Kellogg's and Nintendo he also spearheaded the early transition of both Burnett and subsidiary Capps Digital (now Mundocom) to the Apple Macintosh for creative and production. Now one of the largest pre-media businesses, Chris developed the core standards, processes and technology foundations for Capps Digital.

Prior to the Burnett network he started two design companies and consulted with many others. Along the way he's been an early adopter of many technologies, including the Macintosh in 1984, digital pre-press in the early 90's and ultimately the internet.

A past member of Apple's Customer Advisory Board and often a featured speaker at industry events, including ad:tech, Macworld, Seybold Seminars, Siggraph, he can typically be found sleeves rolled up, engaged in conversation on the internet marketing he knows so well.

Fueled with an entrepreneur's spirit and agrarian sensibilities, Chris' Midwest farm upbringing was coupled with an east coast childhood. A Graduate of Drake University's Journalism program, Chris's love for learning led him to the dubious distinction of a triple major and three credits shy of a fourth. Outside of the office he enjoys teaching scuba diving and is part owner of a dive shop in St. Thomas, USVI. And when not under the water he can be found wake boarding, kite surfing and most recently trying fresh water surfing. All of which he enjoys along side his Scottish wife, who both are fortunate to share their house with two cats and a German Shepherd Dog.
