Maureen A. McGuire became Chief Marketing Officer of Bloomberg, LP, the leader global provider of financial data, analytics and news, in July 2009.

Prior to joining Bloomberg full-time, Ms. McGuire was an independent consultant with the company where she proposed a new marketing organizational structure and management system and conducted a brand audit for the company.

Prior to her consultative work, Ms. McGuire served as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Sears Holdings Corporation from 2005 until 2008. During her years at Sears Holdings, she was responsible for all marketing and product public relations associated with the Sears and Kmart brands, as well as for the Craftsman, Diehard and Kenmore brands.

Prior to joining Sears, Ms. McGuire spent thirty years at International Business Machines Corporation in a variety of marketing roles, most recently as a Senior Marketing Executive at IBM Corporate headquarters, as well as at the IBM Global Services and Systems and Technology Groups. She was closely associated with the award-winning IBM e-business marketing campaign that helped in the turnaround of the IBM brand in the late 90's until she left IBM in 2005.

Ms. McGuire was named 2002 Marketer of the Year by B2B Magazine, 2003 Communicator of the Year by the Business Marketing Association, and was among Advertising Age's Women to Watch during 2008.

Ms. McGuire earned an M.A. from Glasgow University, Scotland. She has served on the board of Furniture Brands since December 2008 and is a long-time member of the board of advisors for Catalyst, the non-profit membership organization promoting opportunities for women in business.
